Trust in the Lord

image Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight

I’m reading this scripture and thinking about a website I was on today that asked the question “How has organized religion affected your life?” I’ts basically presented as a question for site visitors to come on and give insight as to how they fell about organized religion. I’m like bet what a wonderful witnessing opportunity. Let me think real carefully about what to say because the question is speaking about organized religion. So although I am a Christian because of Christ, not religion. No matter what I say people will read me as a Christian, as in one who practices that particular religion. Someone who’s a part of the “most popular organized religion of them all in America”. I wanted to display my faith as well as distinguish between the differences of following a religion called Christianity, over having faith in the Christ that the title exists for.

Basically highlighting the fact that religion period cannot lead you to God, God must lead you to him and it’s only then that religion is doing what it was meant to. For instance I cannot convince anyone to become a Christian. The bible tells us that no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. (This verse can be found in 1Corinthians 12:3). Once people are saved then they can say that Jesus is Lord and then they are Christian again not by religions affiliation but by faith in the one that did all the work in the 1st place.

Now I chose to write on Proverbs 3:5-6 here and planned on going a whole other way with this, but as I’m reading I’m thinking ok this basically is saying in a nutshell what I was hurting my brain to say. To trust in the Lord he actually has to exist, to not lean on your own understanding, there has to be a 2nd understanding presented that is going up against or in agreeance with yours. We can only distinguish when it’s ours or the fathers via the Holy Sprit as well as via his word. In order for God to make our paths straight he 1st must be who he claims to be and accessible for us to do that which pleases him. He cannot be schizophrenic as religion would like for us to believe, “believe in this because God is this way”, “no no believe in this because he’s that way” or some would even present “she’s that way”. When people get tired of losing relationships and loved ones, due to different religious beliefs someone decides well God is all of these things based on your own Truth…nonsense!!

God is exactly who he says he is and we know for 100% fact due to his Holy Spirit. Once we are saved, receive the Holy Spirit and go about the business of growing in our faith, we have everything we need to trust the Lord to grow in him to be led by him.

So my answer basically spoke on this fact, we don’t pick and chose what religion we want to follow, how dare we define God that way. Only he can tell us who he is. Also stressing as someone stated they are searching out religions and find that they don’t like abc or xyz about 1 and it prompts her to “Try another one”. Again we can’t define God that’s simply having a false God. I went on to share the fact that I don’t like everything that God may have for me to do or everything that he says to be true…..I simply believe it to be true and trust him in it!!! Just as we don’t agree with or like everything our earthly parents presented to us but we still trust that they had their best interest for us…well most of us do anyway. It’s a matter of having relationship and responding based on the relationships not personal tastes. Therefore as believers we ought to trust in the Lord with all our hearts, that’s not the desperately wicked heart it’s the submitted heart the heart that’s both changed and being changed. We are to trust our Lord with it, it is then that our walks are on point; we are not stressing over every little thing and even when it comes to being successful on this weight loss journey. Trust him submit to him let him get all glory and watch your life be blessed in return.

Grace & Peace
