The Daily Dish-Detox Day #5

I can’t believe I’m @ day 5 already!!! This day was hard, namely because I’d gotten caught up on the phone yesterday and didn’t eat as much as I would have if I hadn’t gotten caught up. Now I know what to do if a temptation hit, but think I’ll replace the phone with digging in the word.

Speaking of temptation I have not had more of it today than any time of “dieting” I don’t think. First it was the email from the director of my job who brought us pizza simply because this is the last Friday in Fall. Then my two student workers came in and were eating there lunch when one asked if I’d ever tried the grilled chicken caesar wrap from the new restaurant across the street and went on to say how good it was. The other offered me some of her Thai noodles to which I’d thank her but refuse due to the cleanse. Of course during this time the sense of smell is heightened. Everything smells so good!!

Yet I’m happier to report that I didn’t give into temptation woo hoo!! What could have happened is I could have been tempted to go out and purchase a wrap or get the free pizza Oh forgot about the candy sale that my coworker is pitching for her daughter. She was so kind to list everything being offered in her email:) At first was going to turn it down but decided to give a donation since their $1 bars. Will tell her to kindly pass mines along. Now that I think about it, that is a good weapon anytime where I can buy or take and give to one of the homeless people that walk the streets of CC Philly.

But as I was saying, I would have went and brought one or went for the free pizza because we only do it every now and again so I better take advantage of it or tell myself I’ve done so well for 4 days I can do 1 cheat. I praise God I didn’t fall into any of those traps. It’s also evidence that He’s giving me the grace needed to push through it and without it being/feeling like a chore. I’m grateful, it took a while for me to feel full today too. I’d started off with my steel cut oatmeal and that was blah so did the fruit good but wouldn’t fill me so I tried my sweet potato’s and black beans, again blah so tried my banana. Dawned on me that I could use my Banana to sweeten my oatmeal so went back to it and it was sooooo goooood!! I’m sure I’ve used banana in my oatmeal before since I’ve forgone sugar (for the most part) but I don’t recall it being so good, I may not even need to use agave when I sweeten with banana & that’s a beautiful thing!!
