Have you seen her?! Kierra Sheard

I was just watching a youtube video of an interview of Kierra Sheard and one question posed to her were about challenges. She stated that people told her she was too big to have this career. For one I was shocked and not sure why, because she’s a Christian artist and that absolutely shouldn’t be the focus in terms of seeking a certain image oppose to being concerned about health and taking care of her temple. Then it dawned on me I never really looked at Kierra as the big girl. Again could have something to do with that not really being the focus for the Christian yet can’t say for sure because as writer for The Skinty, I tend to notice weight period. Nevertheless hadn’t truly crossed my mind. SO to my surprise I saw this pic on her myspace and was blessed to know that it was on her mind it’s a blessing because gospel singers are known to be large and it’s pretty much deemed acceptable. While one shouldn’t seek a certain size status if you will, it is important for health and that goes for all of us that we do care for our bodies. Having a believer in the spotlight that takes action will cause others to take notice. And I’m not one to feel that people should seek the advice of someone due to their fame, but the platform will indeed be one to allow others to take notice of the change and perhaps follow suit. Hopefully as a witness of honoring God with their bodies rather than simply seeking thin. At any rate, here she is:)
