Easy Protein Conditioner
The protein in Mayonnaise really strenghten the hair and gives it a nice shine and it’s really simple to do.
-Dependant upon the length of your hair, start with about 1/2 a cup of Mayo, more or less based on your length.
-If you’d like you can add to the mayo oils to give that extra moisturising agent as well as scented oils of your choice that can mask out the mayo smell. I typically will use the may and olive oil and I’m good.
-If you choose to add oil, place the mayo in a bowl and mix in the oil, just a few drops of the scented oils are necessary. If you chose to go with the olive oil, again dependant upon hair length 2-4 tablespoons is good.
-Be sure that your hair is sectioned off in at least 4 sections, two in the front and two in the back.
-Once mixed, apply the conditioner to each section with your hands making sure each strand is covered well.
-Comb the conditioner through each section once applied, do not comb from the root down but from the ends to the root. This will prevent tangling as well as pulling out your hair.
-Cover your head with a plastic cap, if you do not have a plastic cap a plastic shopping bag works just as well. You’ll just need to cover your head in a way that works in the same way a plastic cap would. Next you can sit like this, you can add a towel to it to enhance the heat, you can sit under a hooded dryer if you have one. Let it sit on your head for about 15 minutes to a half an hour.
-Then rinse and shampoo. It’s important to make sure all of the mayo conditioner is rinsed out because of the protein. The protein strengthens the hair however too much of it will cause it to break and therefore you want to be sure it’s fully removed to avoid breakage.
And that’s it, a conditioner that can be found right in your fridge that’s good for your hair.
