Amy’s Veggie Burgers
Amy, or should I say Amy’s mom is my new best friend:) I just had a taste of the All American Veggie Burger, and I do mean taste because I wasn’t hungry enough to make my own yet didn’t want to take over my daughter’s. I believe I mentioned when doing the review on the Pizza, how I purchased the veggie burgers but they went uneaten. Yeah renewing the mind must go down in all areas of this life or we just a plum mess. What would it have hurt to try what I already had at home? Anyway so I finally decided to try some, my fear was well similar to my frozen meat fear, that it would taste like some artificial think that someone threw together in hopes that a brave soul would come along and buy it. Yet as I’ve said in the past, can’t know what will be good if I don’t take the chance of trying it. So I took the chance and tried a box of the veggie burgers. Decided to go with the all American because I knew if I went with one of the enhanced burgers and liked it, I’d never try the original, the opposite happening would have produced the same results.
I studied the box carefully (as if food ever looks like it does on the box) being sure I wasn’t getting like a rice veggie hook up, you know when it tastes like someone put a bunch of veggies in a ball or rice, the rice being there to cause it to stick, and t hat’s just what it tastes like a ball or rice bunched together with veggies:) So I needed to be sure this wasn’t what I was purchasing. My favorite veggie burger from Basic 4 has more of a mealy for lack of a better word flavor with all the right spices. So I took a teeny tiny piece of my daughter’s burger in hopes that it would deliver what I love about my favorite burger and it did. I’d say I tasted more veggies in this and it somewhat had the consistency I loathe. But not so much where it was a turn off, and it tasted just like the burger from my favorite spot. So I’m beyond pleased because now I can save a few bucks and make it at home.
If I could just get a hold of how they make that soy mayo than I’m truly good to go beef what’s that?:)
